Sinek claims that when starting with the "why", leaders are more likely to connect with people on a deeper, emotional level, and inspiring them to take action. Through his model he argues that most successful leaders and organizations start with "why" they do what they do, which according to him has the power to motivate people through the connection of shared dreams, desires and wanting, instead of focusing on what they do or how they do it. According to Simon Sinek's TED talk, great leaders inspire action through a simple and powerful model which he calls the Golden Circle. ![]() ![]() I mean, yes – authoring is really stressful and I use sugar to keep from bouncing off the walls. **Accepts the coffee gratefully** What? No cake? She usually waves hello from a safe distance. *hands over coffee* (Now you may have heard Renae isn’t a hugger. It’s too bloody stressful.” Now look at us! I remember thinking “I’m never going to start writing. ![]() At the time I hadn’t started writing myself and I found it fascinating to hear the trials and tribulations she had gone through to get to that point. Renae has been a prolific author for the past year or so and I had the pleasure in meeting her just before her debut novel was released. All of Renae’s books are set in Australia which is just one reason why readers love her. We all know Renae from her best sellers, Loving Jay, The Blinding Light and more recently, You Are the Reason. ![]() Today I have the pleasure in interviewing fellow Perth girl, Renae Kaye. ![]() ![]() As today’s book shows, the nature of motherhood is surprisingly the same for human moms as for those in nature! Supermoms!: Animal Heroes Written by Heather Lang and Jamie Harper | Illustrated by Jamie Harperĭid you know that the animal kingdom is full of supermoms? It’s true! They may not wear capes, but some do fly through the air and others can go paw to wheel with a speeding train. ![]() On President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation establishing Mother’s Day as “a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country.” First envisioned to honor all mothers instead of primarily your own, the day has become a more personal holiday in which families celebrate in their own unique and meaningful way. We always love our moms, but on the second Sunday of May we celebrate that special relationship and thank them for everything they do for us all year long. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Or perhaps the academic dismissal of Settlers is due to the fact that it was published by a fringe press and presented in a somewhat unorthodox manner: the type-setting, use of found images and collage, and 8.5x11 graphic novel size does not fit the acceptable standards of an "authoritative" book.Īnd yet, though it is always tempting to blame the author or the publisher for a book's failure, Sakai's Settlers would have never received normative academic acclaim even if the author and his publisher had chosen to play by certain rules. Perhaps the reason for its academic neglect can be blamed on its unsober use of language and rhetorical tone: those who study political theory within the polite confines of academia tend to zone out when they read phrases and words that break the implicit rules of intellectual chivalry. Sakai's Settlers: The Mythology of the White Proletariat was published in the mid-1980s it has remained at the edges of "acceptable" social theory, just at the threshold of obscurity. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If the show is anything like Hugh Howey’s New York Times bestselling dystopian trilogy, then it will offer and expansive look at the the vast and mysterious Silo, the inhabitants who use it as the only line of defense of dying and dangerous planet, and those who wish to know the truth behind the lies, no matter what it takes. These questions, as well as several others, will drive Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette on a quest for the truth, no matter what it may expose. ![]() And though the last remnants of humanity have called the silo home for years, no one knows exactly when it was constructed or why it was built in the first place. When Silo premieres in early May, it will tell the story of the last 10,000 people living on Earth, who have long taken shelter in a vast structure a mile beneath the surface of the planet, which protects them from the toxic hellscape, Apple TV+ has revealed. ![]() ![]() At some point, I thought there would be Nora Roberts in the witness sequel but she does not do that, she only does trilogies. The relationship between Abigail and Brooks plays a significant role in this book, how she assists the legal system, how she learns to accept love and family into her life, and how she finally offers herself an opportunity for a true future after 12 years. The Witness by Nora Roberts tells the tale of a lady fighting for survival while alternating between tense and chaotic scenes and peaceful ones. ![]() Although Abigail and Brooks’ relationship is frequently the center of attention. Distinctions between science, superstition, and pseudoscience were still being formulated, and a devoutly Christian biblical perspective permeated Western culture. In the Early Modern Period of Newton's lifetime, the educated embraced a world view different from that of later centuries. Historical research on Newton's occult studies in relation to his science have also been used to challenge the disenchantment narrative within critical theory. ![]() Newton's scientific work may have been of lesser personal importance to him, as he placed emphasis on rediscovering the wisdom of the ancients. English physicist and mathematician Isaac Newton produced works exploring chronology, and biblical interpretation (especially of the Apocalypse), and alchemy. ![]() |
